Dr. Frederic Cegla is a Reader in the Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) group of the Mechanical Engineering Department at Imperial College London. His research interests are in the fields of NDE, structural health monitoring (SHM) and Physical Acoustics. He is a Fellow of the British Institute of Non-destructive Testing (BINDT). He was the chair of the Physical Acoustics Group of the Institute of Physics of the UK and Ireland. He has been the holder of a prestigious EPSRC Fellowship and has won numerous awards such as the 2016 Achenbach medal for his contribution to the field of SHM. He has an interest and track record in protecting and commercialising technology, including the formation of a successful company that pioneered ultrasonic corrosion monitoring via autonomous wireless sensors. He is currently the director and chairman of Sonobotics.

Dr. Pouyan Khalili received a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from Imperial College London in 2018 focusing on high-frequency guided waves and other methods of corrosion monitoring applied in petrochemical plants. He has engaged with industrial partners such as a major European utility and one of world’s largest producers of steel pipe as a technical consultant working to provide novel inspection techniques for their specific applications. He is the co-founder and Managing Director of Sonobotics focusing on the commercialisation of the company’s novel technologies.
