Sonobotics is an innovative and disruptive technology start-up from the NDE Group at Imperial College with the mission to develop cutting-edge and bespoke inspection technologies for autonomous and semi-autonomous robotic platforms. Seamless hardware and software integration onto all robotic platforms are at the heart of Sonobotics’ technology, advancing the inspection industry of tomorrow.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Engineering student with a business/commercial interest to run a business development and lead generation project alongside the company co-founder and CEO. As a Business Development Intern at Sonobotics, you will play a crucial role in driving our growth strategy by identifying potential clients within the industrial inspection robotics and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) service sectors. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in business development while working closely with the CEO to spearhead key projects and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead Generation:

    • Identify and target industrial inspection robotic companies and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) service providers as potential clients.

    • Research and compile a comprehensive list of prospects within the target industries.

  2. Market Research and Analysis:

    • Conduct thorough market research to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and potential opportunities for collaboration.

    • Analyse data to identify key decision-makers and purchasers within target companies.

  3. Collaboration with CEO:

    • Work closely with the CEO to communicate findings regarding potential clients and key decision makers/buyers.

    • Assist in developing strategies to engage with prospects effectively.

  4. Technical Content Creation:

    • Generate engaging and informative technical content for marketing purposes.

    • Create content for various platforms including website and social media, to attract and engage potential leads.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to conduct market research and analyse data effectively.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with CRM software is a plus.

  • Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving.

  • Prior experience in business development, sales, or marketing is desirable but not mandatory.

Location:

NDE Lab at Imperial College London (Exhibition Road) based in the heart of London, 2-minute walk from Hyde Park. Local amenities include local shops, supermarkets and large number of pubs and restaurants.

 

Additional Information:

  • 2 months, with the option to extend to 3 months.

    • Monday - Friday on site work

    • 9am - 5pm or 8am - 4pm (flexible)

    • 40hrs per week (including lunch & breaks)

  • Visa sponsorship not available

  • This is a paid internship
